Today I wanted to share how to organize school clothes and in particular, how I organize the girls’ closets.
In each of their closets, I have a hanging shoe organizer. There are six compartments. The top compartment holds hats, caps and their neck/head pillow for travelling.
Then each of the other compartments holds one day’s worth of clothes, which typically includes socks, underwear, top and pants or skirt. The girls also choose their hair accessories (clips, hairbands) and jewellery (if wearing) and place those in the compartment for the next morning.
On the left side of the closet are seasonal clothes and dress up items. On the right side of the closet are pants, sweaters, long-sleeved tops, t-shirts and any skirts they have. At the very far right of the closet are their next size up clothes. Larger sized items are stored in boxes in my basement ready for the girls to grow into.
It’s a simple system which works for us at this time.
