This cranberry orange simmer pot recipe will make your home smell delicious through the fall and over the winter. Cinnamon, orange, star anise and cranberries meld together to create a heavenly potpourri.

All you have to do to make this lovely simmer pot is throw a few ingredients together into a saucepot and simmer them on the stove.
You can use fresh or frozen cranberries, orange peel instead of the slices and expired spices (they still smell great!).
Cranberry Orange Simmer Pot Recipe
Fill a saucepot about halfway with water. Add 1 cup of cranberries, 1 sliced orange, 2 – 3 cinnamon sticks and 2 – 3 star anise.
Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat to low and simmer as long as you want to make your home smell wonderful.
Add more water to the pot throughout the day as needed.

To Reuse Your Potpourri
Once your mixture cools down, pour into mason jars and refrigerate for up to a week.
Adapt the recipe to suit your needs. If you don’t like cranberries, try adding apples with the orange slices or vanilla beans or extract. Any way you make this natural stove top potpourri will still make your home smell amazing.

I LOVE this! I’m always looking for more ways to make my house smell good and not like diapers and sippy cups. Plus, no synthetic smells! Definitely pinning, thanks!
It’s great because you can change the recipe depending on what you have on hand and it’s completely natural! Thanks for visiting Ruthy.
That sounds like an amazing mixture of scents – I can’t wait to try it out.
