2021 Goals | Update 3

April 9, 2021 by Debbie 1 Comment

This is April’s update for my goals this year.

Heather and moors with cloudy sky and text overlay which reads 2021 Goals Update #3

Health

Goal 1. Lose 15 pounds. Unfortunately, I have gained a pound this month. I was hopeful that it was from building muscle mass as I have been using weights, but I think it may have something to do with eating Easter chocolate!

Goal 2. Walk 1,000 miles. I have walked 272 miles with 26 miles completed this month so far. I finished the Inca Trail Conqueror challenge and received my medal a few days ago.

Goal 3. Practice self-care. I am still trying to be in bed by 10 p.m. each night, although I have had a few late nights. I have been enjoying drinking water throughout the day, but need to focus on cutting out caffeine in the evening. I should switch to caffeine free tea, as it may be affecting my sleep. I do enjoy rooibos tea and shall try that as part of my winding down routine in the evening.

One thing I have been interested in lately is purchasing a rebounder. I have heard that it is good for your lymphatic system and it sounds fun. Do any of you own a rebounder? Any recommendations for me?

Family

Goal 1. Have a date with each of my girls once a month. Miss C and I enjoyed some time together baking. We made almond butter granola bars and chocolate chip banana bread. Miss S and I have been enjoying watching cooking shows on the Food Network (Chopped and Top Chef Canada).

Goal 2. Have one date a month with my husband. We have continued to enjoy walks together around our local community.

Goal 3. Have a family date once a month. We went to a local community and had a lovely walk around the pond and nature area. We also had another family movie night and watched The Goonies.

Home

Goal 1. Declutter my basement. Ugh. I still have not approached this. I have to write out a plan of attack and do a little bit at a time.

Goal 2. Organize our digital photos. I have started deleting fuzzy photos and duplicates.

Goal 3. Keep to a regular housecleaning routine. I have been off track with this, but have created a new weekly schedule to try and keep me focused.

Blog

Goal 1. Post on a regular basis. I have been posting approximately every two weeks. I would like to improve this to weekly.

Goal 2. Complete the blogging course I purchased. I have not started this yet.

Goal 3. Build a community. Not started yet, as I still want to complete back end work on the blog first.

Great Job on your loss. We all have small set backs but, we have to get back on track. I, myself haven’t lost as much as I have wanted so far this year. I would be great maintaining my weight. It is just getting it off. Great job on your exercising. “The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday”. Keep up the good work. Slow and steady wins the race.
