31 Days of Autumn {Day 10}: Hot Chocolate Recipe

October 10, 2013 by Debbie 1 Comment

Delicious hot chocolate recipe.

Mug of hot chocolate on table with text overlay which reads Hot Chocolate Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups milk

Directions:

1. Measure water, sugar, cocoa, salt and vanilla extract into a small saucepan.

2. Stir together with a whisk and heat on medium to just boiling, stirring occasionally.

3. Add in the milk and whisk together until scalding hot, but do not boil the milk.

4. Take off the heat. Stir in cream, if desired and pour into mugs.

Enjoy!

I’ve never tried making my own hot chocolate before! Can’t wait to give it a go.
