Let’s continue with our adventure in Paris.
We walked to Rue Cler again and this time we stayed for breakfast. We chose to go to Brasserie Aux PTT.
I enjoyed the petit dejenuer breakfast which was delicious! This cafe was recommended by Rick Steves and I was hoping to show his Paris travel book and receive a discount on breakfast. Our waitress informed me that there was a new owner and they did not want to continue offering this discount.
After breakfast we took a stroll to the Eiffel Tower. We had tickets to go up at 10 a.m. and were there in plenty of time. I enjoyed taking photos from underneath the tower before we were allowed to go in.
We took the elevator to the second level. The tower was quiet when we first went up, but by the time we left it was very crowded. The views were lovely.
We chose to walk down the stairs when we were ready to leave. It was quiet on the steps and we had great views.
From here we wandered across to Trocadero Gardens to take photos of the Eiffel Tower.
The girls were hungry so we had a quick snack from a crepe vendor. Delicious! I love lemon crepes. We continued on our walk and made our way through Champ de Mars and saw some beautiful architecture.
We were all hungry at this point and had lunch at Café le Dôme. I chose the croque-monsieur with a green salad which was very nice. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the traffic.
By the time lunch was finished, we needed to head back to the hotel, so we strolled down Rue Saint-Dominique, stopping at a grocery store for some fruit. We checked out of the hotel and walked to a taxi stand to get a ride to the train station.
It was probably the scariest car ride I’ve ever been on! The taxi zipped in and out of traffic, nearly clipping a motorcyclist. Thankfully, we arrived safe and sound and I was very relieved to get out of the car. It was certainly an experience, though I have been told that the drivers in Rome are even worse.
We took the Eurostar back to London, had a scrumptious fish and chip dinner at North Sea Fish Restaurant and checked into our lovely hotel. The Euro Hotel is located in Bloomsbury on a quiet street opposite a tennis court and within 10 – 15 minutes walk of St. Pancras and King’s Cross stations.
I absolutely loved our visit to Paris and can’t wait to go back.

I adore Paris, it’s one of my favourite cities! It looks like you had a lovely time. Shame about the discount thing – but French cafes often change hands like that.
