Five Uses For Leftover Mashed Potatoes

August 26, 2015 by Debbie 6 Comments

Do you eat mashed potatoes? We enjoy them in our home quite often. They are delicious, but the leftovers are even better.  These are my five favorite uses for leftover mashed potatoes.

Potato Cakes

Add an egg, flour and cheese, form into patties and fry.  Delicious! Try this recipe.

Refrigerator Dough

This is such a versatile dough.  A few recipes you can make with it are hotdog buns, dinner rolls, bread sticks and cinnamon buns. Try this recipe.

Gnocchi

Use leftover mashed potatoes to make homemade gnocchi. Try this recipe.

Shepherd’s Pie

This delicious dish is easy to make and to customize with the flavours that you like.  This is classic comfort food in my home. Try this recipe.

Mashed Potato Puffs

Mix your favorite fixings in to these scrumptious melt in your mouth puffs.  So good! Try this recipe.

There are so many other ways to use the leftovers.  Try making fish cakes, kofta, colcannon, mashed potato soup or croquettes.

What are your favourite ways to use up leftover mashed potatoes?

As a kid growing up, there were never left over mashed potatoes. There were 6 of us! Great idea.
    Wishes for tasty dishes, Linda

Hi Debbie! I found your site through the Monday Madness LinkUp party. I’m always wondering what to do with leftover mashed potatoes, so I’ve bookmarked and Pinned your post for future reference! Nice to “meet” you and I look forward to more posts.
