2021 Goals | Update 5

August 13, 2021 by Debbie 2 Comments

Here is my August update for this year’s goals.

Health

Goal 1. Lose 15 pounds. I am coming closer to my goal. I have lost a total of ten pounds this year so far. Over the summer, I have tried to eat more fruits and vegetables and over the last few weeks we have explored a lot of walking trails as a family.

Goal 2. Walk 1,000 miles. According to my FitBit, I have walked 611.85 miles so far this year. I am currently working on the Hadrian’s Wall medal through the Conqueror Virtual Challenge. This is a 90 mile walk along the Hadrian’s Wall path across the north of England.

Goal 3. Practice self-care. I have been trying to eat healthier over the summer and have been paying attention to which foods I have reactions to (such as making me feel tired, bloated or have an upset stomach). I have also been having more of a regular bedtime and going to bed early if I feel I need extra sleep. My drink of choice has been water and I have had regular and carbonated. I recently discovered blackberry bubly sparkling water and have been enjoying drinking that.

Family

Goal 1. Have a date with each of my girls once a month. This has lapsed over the summer as we have been busier doing activities as a family. I need to schedule this in again to make sure the girls and I have this special time.

Goal 2. Have one date a month with my husband. We have not set time aside recently for an actual date, but we did enjoy watching the Olympics together.

Goal 3. Have a family date once a month. We have spent lots of time together this summer and even managed a short trip to the mountains.

Home

Goal 1. Declutter my basement. I have not yet completed any more decluttering. I think this will wait until the girls are back in school.

Goal 2. Organize our digital photos. I have not done any more organizing over the summer and now I have lots of summer photos to download to the computer and put into the various folders.

Goal 3. Keep to a regular housecleaning routine. I have been keeping up with this and the house is not looking too bad.

Blog

Goal 1. Post on a regular basis. I have been terrible at this over the summer. I have enjoyed spending the time with my family, but will make an effort to post more regularly.

Goal 2. Complete the blogging course I purchased. Again, I have not completed any more this summer.

Goal 3. Build a community. I have done nothing towards this recently.
