My 2021 Goals and Focus Word

January 15, 2021 by Debbie 2 Comments

Hello friends! Welcome to 2021. We made it!

Planner with text overlay which reads 2021 Goals and Focus Word

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas season and were able to celebrate with family and friends in a fun and safe way.

My Focus Word For 2021

This year I have chosen the word Foundation as my focus word.

I have chosen this word as 2020 felt overwhelming and stressful to me. The pandemic sidetracked me from my goals and I lost focus as we tried to cope with lockdowns and isolation. I cannot control the world at large, so I’m going to focus on what I can control. This to me means going back to the basics.

I want to build a solid foundation for my health, family, home and blog. A lot of my goals will overlap from last year as I did not complete them.

Goals for 2021

Health

Goal 1. Lose 15 pounds. I overindulged in comfort food during 2020 and need to eat healthier, nourishing foods and drink more water.

Goal 2. Walk 1,000 miles. I failed this challenge last year, but am determined to walk this distance in 2021.

Goal 3. Practice self-care. This will mean making sure I sleep enough, reduce stress, plan for downtime and try to take control of my mindset/attitude.

Family

Goal 1. Have a date with each of my girls once a month doing something they enjoy.

Goal 2. Have one date a month with my husband. This may be at home or very local depending on whether we have further lockdowns or restrictions on travel in our area.

Goal 3. Have a family date once a month. This may mean taking a family walk or hike, playing a game, going on a bike ride or watching a movie together.

Home

Goal 1. Declutter my basement. I started this last year, but did not complete it. I have lots of boxes in the basement and would like to sort through all of them and declutter.

Goal 2. Organize our digital photos. Again, I started this last year and completed three years worth of photos, but there’s lots more to do. I am slowly deleting the fuzzy photos and keeping the best ones in folders by month and year.

Goal 3. Keep to a regular housecleaning routine. I lost my motivation for this last year, but my family deserves to have a cozy, organized home to relax and recharge in.

Blog

Goal 1. Post on a regular basis.

Goal 2. Complete the blogging course I purchased a few years ago. I will make my way through each lesson at my own pace and aim to finish by the end of the year.

Goal 3. Build a community. I am hoping to build a community of women who take delight in homemaking.
