This recipe makes approximately 40 cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 400F.

2. Beat the sugar, butter, shortening and eggs in a large bowl until creamy (about 2 to 3 minutes).

3. Stir in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.

4. Shape dough into 1 1/4″ balls.

5. Mix the 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.

6. Roll balls in the sugar mixture and place onto a lined cookie sheet approximately 2 inches apart.

7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until set.
