Many of us complain of being tired. Often it’s our everyday habits that affect our energy levels.

Here are 5 ways to have more energy throughout the day.

1.  Have healthy sleep habits

When you don’t get enough rest, you become run down and are more likely to have low energy levels and become ill. Set a bedtime and try to stick to it.  Make sure to stay away from technology (computers / t.v.) for the hour or so before bed. Unwind before sleeping by reading, working on a crossword puzzle or knitting. When you sleep well and wake refreshed, you’ll have lots of energy to tackle your day.

2.  Drink water throughout the day

Staying hydrated is so important.  Nutrients and oxygen are transported to our cells through the fluids we drink.  Drinking water is wonderful for warding off fatigue. Carry a water bottle with you to ensure you drink regularly.

3.  Have a positive attitude

A positive attitude can help you deal with daily life. Having a positive frame of mind can give you confidence, make you happier, motivate you and give you energy to accomplish your goals. A few ways to have a positive attitude are to keep a gratitude journal, to avoid negative people in your life and to be aware of the words you use with yourself and others.

4.  Exercise

Regular exercise will help you have more energy, reduce fatigue, release stress, increase mental alertness and also help you sleep better.

5.  Listen to music

Music is an effective way to increase energy, change your focus and elevate your mood.

I eat a low carb diet and take supplements that give me more energy like B-Active…in addition to the things you have mentioned.

I love this post! Drinking enough water and getting a good night’s sleep are sooo important. So simple, but yet so difficult sometimes… I especially struggle with getting enough sleep, but I’m working on it. Positive attitude, right?! 🙂
