Happy New Year!
The start of a new year is always an exciting time. There is so much to look forward to and it is a great time to take a few moments to think about your goals. It’s an opportunity to reflect on how the previous year went and to plan for everything you want to achieve in the new year.
My Goals For The Year

You are so much more ambitious than I am… Praying you are able to meet your goals.
Wow! Good for you! I’m terrible at setting goals–I should follow your example!
Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace! 🙂
Hey! I’m learning French too! I’m a bit of a language nerd, and since you asked for some ideas for how to learn French, I’d love for you to check out the post I just wrote about my 2017 Language Goals + Resources.
I love that you divide your goals into different aspects of your life. I did that for the first time this year, and I hope it will help me achieve more balance in all areas of my life.
Do you have tips on freezer meals? I have been wanting to try it, but there is an overwhelming amount of information on it out in the interwebs.
Amber, thank you for the great resources. I now have a great place to start.
I keep my freezer cooking pretty simple. When I’m making spaghetti sauce, soups, pizza sauce or applesauce, I will make enough for the meal we’re eating and extra to freeze.
If we have leftover pancakes after Sunday breakfast, these will also be frozen and can be reheated in the toaster for a quick breakfast. I also like to double up when I make banana bread or muffins and freeze the extra for another week.
When I’m feeling more ambitious, I will make batches of chicken curry, shepherd’s pie, chicken pot pie and chilli to freeze a more complete meal.
I am just starting to experiment with freezer meals for the crockpot, where you freeze all the ingredients together and then put them in the crockpot and cook.
Michelle at The Gracious Wife has some lovely freezer meals you could try and Lauren at Lauren Greutman has a lot of information on freezer cooking / meals on her blog.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Good for you!! I think it takes writing them down to keep us on track, don’t you? Although I have written down goals and then gotten completely sidetracked, lol! I like that you put family in your goal making…that is the most important 🙂
I love all of your goals! Sounds like you are well on your way to creating a life you will love! French is my favorite language, btw, so I especially love that your goal is to learn it. Thanks for sharing your goals with us at Merry Monday!
Good luck on all your goals! Stick to it! Thanks for linking up with Funtastic Friday!
Thank you Heidi! Have a great week.
You and me on the same track, Debbie~ I had learning French on my goals last year but when I also started blogging it took the back seat until it was out the window. But I will tell you what I used and loved was the online downloadable ….now I can’t think of it. Yellow box. It is probably the most used in schools or for work. I feel silly. Anyway, it has photos, you speak they tell you how good you did, it teaches more like a child learns by phrases and common things. I have six levels so I need to get back on it again. Rosetta Stone! I looked it up. Highly recommend. I used Spanish for my kids when I homeschooled and they used it on mission trips to Mexico.
Thank you so much for the suggestion Debbie! Much appreciated.
